5 Reasons to go to Paris

When it comes to visiting Paris, there are many reasons to get yourself to the most romantic city in the world. From the ease of getting to the French capital, to the city’s rich and opulent history, to the changing of the seasons, it is always a good idea to change air. Need more convincing ? I’ve gather a few best reasons why you should visit the City of Light now.

It’s the most romantic city in the world

Few places do romance like Paris does, it’s definitively hard not to fall in love in Paris. With a history steeped in romanticism, movies like « midnight in Paris », love is in the air everywhere, and there’s little wonder it’s cited as the world’s most romantic city. When I walk around Paris, I often find newly married couples doing photography shootings under the looming Eiffel Tower. Strolling along the Seine or taking boat tours, visiting the Impressionist museums, tasting French gastronomy, the opportunities for romance are endless.

It’s a foodie’s paradise

As a nation of food lovers beloved for their bread, pastries, wine and more- France is famous for its food. Parisians are blessed with patisseries, boulangeries and butchers on every street corner, and as the cultural capital Paris boasts an abundant supply of foodie offerings.

The café culture

The café culture in Paris is well renowned. At the heart of both the social and culinary life in the French capital, the popularity of pavement cafés is incomparable . As part of the way of life for many Parisians, a leisurery morning spent at one of the city’s many sidewalk cafés is among the finest common pleasures of Paris. Whether with friends or dining solo, sit back and enjoy a café-croissant while people watching, reading a book, or simply enjoying the passers-by.

The landmarks

Perhaps more so than any other European city, the mere mention of Paris is synonymous with a wealth of world-famous features. With an abundance of landmarks, museums and cathedrals to visit, from the iconic Eiffel Tower, to the gothic Notre Dame or Sainte Chapel and gardens …

At all seasons

In Summer, Paris is empty as Parisians mostly enjoy vacations away at the beach or abroad. The sales begin mid June for 8 weeks, you can find really good deal at 75% off. In addition, the national day is celebrated on July 14th.

In Autumn, the weather is still nice and it is a good time to enjoy all the activities at the capital or in the suburbs such as visiting the famous castle of Versailles, visiting Monet’s house in Giverny, or simply tasting Champagne in Reims ; all that only 1 hour away from Paris.

In Winter, the best season for visiting the numerous museums, enjoying all the abundance of the food as Holidays season is drawing near and buy the perfect gift. Not to forget : many musical shows , the Moulin Rouge, the Opera and the winter sales start in mid January.

In Spring, the best season according to me as Paris is not over crowded with tourists yet. Besides, the air tickets are quite affordable. Paris is in full bloom in the Parcs and at historical places. The appointment that every tennis fans never miss takes place end of Mai with the French Tennis Open.
